Our History

In the late 1800s, early settlers gathered for worship and Sunday School in homes, a schoolhouse, and even a blacksmith’s shop. The Union Church, built in 1901, served multiple congregations, including Methodist, Baptist, and Missionary Alliance. Methodist circuit riders led worship in Pine Castle until 1943, when the church could afford a full-time minister.

In March 1958, the fellowship hall was completed, initially serving as the church sanctuary. The two-story educational building followed in 1962. Faithful to God’s blessings, the church built its current sanctuary, holding its first service there on March 12, 1967.

In early 2022, our Leadership and Lay Ministry Teams embarked on a rebranding process, seeking God’s heart and direction. One word emerged repeatedly: Community. This led to Pine Castle UMC becoming Belle Isle Community Church.

In August 2023, Belle Isle Community Church joined the Global Methodist Church, continuing its mission to share God’s love and hope.
